Imagine if one of your peers randomly came up to you and complimented you on your hair, eyes, clothing choice, tattoo, piercings or anything special that makes you, you. How would you feel? Good?
Well, I did just that. I went around at Vans Warped Tour 2014 at Jones Beach complimenting people I did not know and after asked them for them to sign my shirt.
This is how many people I was able to make a difference with. My challenge to you is how many people can you compliment in one day?
I want to keep this safe and clean. When going around at events, make sure not to be alone and to ask your peers. Compliments are not to be of a sexual nature at all and no profanity. Keep it clean and safe.
My thought is this. What makes us different is our art and it should be complimented and appreciated. Being a teen myself, I know adults can find our artistic expression disturbing. Many times our artistic expressions are our scars that we wear. It is what makes us unique and beautiful.
By a compliment, it can really make someone happy. Even if just for that moment. What it did for me was make a memory that I will never forget and one that I will repeat again and again.
Let someone know that you really like their purple hair or their tattoo, basically, their unique artistic difference, have them sign a shirt, poster or paper and send me an image for me to post online.
In a world full of so much negativity, let’s make one spot of light. Let's see how many lives we can touch.
We are trying to make a world of difference one person at a time
